Lower gun laws
Guns give us protection as well as cause problems, however if we make it too easy for people to get guns then there would be crazy people running around with guns. In my opinion the only way someone should be able to purchase a gun is if they take a safety course so that they know how t use the gun safely and wont just go around randomly shooting the gun not knowing how to use it.
One of the reasons I think that it is a form of self defense. If you have a gun in your house and if you are home sometime and a thief comes into your home then you would have a form of protection. If there is someone trying to kidnap you then you would be able to protect yourself by shooting the gun not to kill the person but as a warning shot so that they know you have a gun. So if you lower the gun laws then it would be easier for you to keep the gun in your house without a trigger lock and have the gun not be loaded. So if you have the guns loaded and have no trigger lock on it then it would be easier to go get the gun and not have to load it and take the trigger lock off making the gun more accessible.
Another reason is if everyone had a concealed gun then, they would be able to protect themselves and others in public. Criminals would be afraid to commit crimes with hand guns because they will be afraid that everyone else is armed and able to protect themselves and others. This is one of the reasons that gun control laws should be lowered.
In conclusion the main reason that gun control laws should be lowered is mainly for protection. In the constitution everybody has the right to own a gun. In my opinion the government doesn’t have the right to restrict people from owning a gun.
I think that the evidence you've given for this problem are good but I disagree with your overall opinion. I think that the gun laws should be raised or stay the same. The idea of using guns as protection is a good one but there are other means such a pepper spray or a blunt object when in your own home. The same thing goes for when you're out and about but I feel that just because citizens have gun it doesn't mean that criminals will be less likely to stop doing illegal things. Criminals may obtain guns illegally so have guns legally wont change much for them, they might just get more violent. I disagree because i believe there are different means to protect ones self it isn't necessary for us to hold guns for protections.

ReplyDeleteI think that you are correct in many ways. Yes, guns provide us protection in many scenarios. I agree that guns should be allowed only if a course is taken by the owner of the gun. But what else should be taken into consideration? What about all of the places with daily deaths do to handguns like Miami? I think that each gun and its bullets should be linked to the owner somehow and the owner should sign a contract stating that if a gun in their possession was used to kill someone without a court determined reason should be sent to jail.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you that guns are used for protection. By having a course, they would defiantly learn how to use a gun correctly. But couldn't someone just go through the course, and then kill someone? I know there is not one fool proof way of ensuring that everyone who buys a gun won't use it for harmful purposes, but isn't there other ways to ensure that guns are used properly? What are some other laws that regulate gun use, and how would lowering the gun laws help people? And with everyone having a gun, would their be more violence? I would need to read about current gun laws to decide if lowering gun laws would help protect people.
